Slimline card and coloring die cuts using Spellbinders Large Die of the month July 2020

Hi friends, Happy 4th of July to all my American friends and family! I salute all the brave men and women who have done great sacrifices to keep this country free. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Lately one of my favorite crafters Yana Smakula has been sharing some amazing cards using no-blend-coloring technique. I decided to use it with die cuts instead of stamps. And yes, I made another slimline card. The alphabet dies from this month’s Spellbinders Large Die of the month July 2020 did lend themselves perfectly for this technique.

Key Ingredients:

  1. Spellbinders Large Die of the month July 2020

  2. Spectrum Noir alcohol markers

  3. Blue Solid Paper Pad by Recollections® at Michaels

  4. Simon Says Stamp Card Stock 100# Cotton Candy

  5. Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers

Steps:

  1. Slimline cards are cards with the size of 8.5 x 3.5. These are made to fit in a standard business envelope. To make these, I trimmed my letter sized (8.5 x 11 in) white cardstock at 7 in on the long size, scored and folded it into half.

  2. Die cut letters to say “thank you” from Cotton Candy cardstock. Color using 3 different colors of pink / red markers.

  3. Die cut all the small leaves and flowers.

  4. Cut a panel from dark blue cardstock to be slightly smaller than the card front. Blend Simon Says Stamp Blue Violet ink on the sides and also add score lines all over this panel to give it some added interest.

  1. Adhere the letters and decorate them with leaves and flowers. Add gems on some of the flowers for something special.

  2. Add the panel to card front and enjoy! :)
