Spellbinders Card Kit Club | Card Idea 1

Hi everyone, it’s June 1st, so time for a brand new card kit from Spellbinders !! For my first card, I used several dies the kit and also several ephemera pieces.

To start with I die cut a balloon dog and all its separate balloon parts using pink cardstock. Using foam adhesive I assembled this dog together and decided to make that my focal point.

I used a patterned paper from the kit to give this dog a base. I wanted to break the colors / design of the patterned paper from my card base itself, but instead of adding a plain strip of some colored cardstock like I usually do, I decided to dit cut the gold mirrored cardstock using the candle die twice, embossed it using the same die and layered it on top of the patterned paper.

Then I picked my ephemera pieces and arranged them around the balloon dog. I used the banner ‘so loved’ and a mint colored cotton candy. To add to the ‘so loved’, I gave banner ends to another small piece of ephemera that says ‘you are’ and added it above the banner.

I wanted the dog to ‘say’ something, so I took two of the stamps ‘It’s your’ and ‘happy day’ and stamped it to appear like the dog is saying it. I used Squeezed Lemonade and Stormy Sky distress oxide inks for stamping, because I felt like they matched the colors on my card well. Finally added a few gold sequins from the kit and called this project done.

These kits are amazing value for money. They come with 10 card bases + envelopes, 4-5 full size cardstock and several goodies including a stamp set and a die set. You can easily make more than 10 cards per kit with these. They also include foam adhesive and tape adhesive with each kit, so really you need very few supplies from your side to be added for making cards. Also they have several member benefits for subscribers and the convenience of skipping a month / cancelling to fit your needs. If you are interested, do check out these club kits using one of the links on this blog post or other Spellbinders Club Kits blog posts.
