Hi peeps, have you had a chance to play with the glimmer kit of the month from Spellbinders yet? The design is just simply stunning. Here’s the card I made with this kit:
For this one again, I continued to play with alcohol inks, only this time I used them on Vellum. More or less did the same overall design as last card. On one side of the Vellum piece, I hot foiled using the plates in this month’s kit. On the reverse, played with alcohol inks.
I did get a little bit of under-foiling on those two areas where I later mounted flowers (like I totally planned to do that! :-D) For the flowers I used Cinch and Go flowers V dies and for the leaves, the two leaf dies that came in this month’s card kit from Spellbinders. I cut out the flowers multiple times from Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy cardstock, layered the petals together and secured each one with a brad in the center. I love making cards like this one where I combine supplies from various kits and they just work together.
I added multi medium matte under the floral clusters and adhered my vellum panel to the card base. I also had to trim a little off the cardbase so that my vellum panel would sit nicely in the center. I used the same trimmed off piece for my sentiment. This sentiment itself comes from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Mermaids stamp set and I used Picked Raspberry distress ink to stamp it.
Just love how it turned out. I hope you do give this idea a try and see how it works for you.
