Happy Sunday, my crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card made with the Large Die of the Month kit for July 2019 by Spellbinders. This is a beautiful that has dies to make bicycles and baskets with flowers. In fact, you can mount the floral basket on the bike to make it 3-D and it will fold flat for mailing. I am sure you must have seen several beautiful examples of the same all over the web and Instagram. For my card though, I decided to make something slightly different and create a ‘bicycle wheel wreath’. I have seen several examples of these on Pinterest and love them, so in typical paper-crafter style, I decided to make one but on a card. :-)
This is the Pinterest image that inspired me to make this card:

I decided to change it up a little for my card but kept the basic theme of bicycle wheel as the wreath base, lots of flowers and mounted on a backdrop of siding for the home.
I started by die cutting and assembling my wheel and the ‘fun times’ sentiment. Then I went to town with cutting out several flowers and leaves. Most of these cardstock I used today came from one or more Spellbinders Kits and some from my stash.
Once I was happy with all the die cutting, I added scor lines on the front of my cardbase – 0.5 inch apart – to make it look like the siding. This is an easy way to add some interest to a card background without using any special tools etc. Once I was happy with that, I arranged the base of the wreath and the sentiment inside MISTI and did some additional stamping. I used Archival Black ink for this and the Happy Sentiments stamp set. So, the complete sentiment reads “sending fun times wishes to you”.
Lastly came the fun part of putting together the wreath and florals around the sentiment. To give it that ‘hanging on the wall’ kinda look, I also added some twine and tied a bow at the top of the wreath. {Yes, as usual, I struggled with tying the bow :-D }
