Hi friends, I am giggling with delight as I share the project for this month’s Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for September 2019.
Can you tell that I had way too much fun making this picture frame art? :-)
This month’s LDOM is just perfect for fall. It has the cutest little mushrooms, gnomes and even a printable of punny, gnome-y sentiments. I am thinking of making another project with this die set and sentiment set, but later. Today, I decided to make something that someone special can enjoy for a long time.
I used a canvas panel – not the stretched canvas, a flat panel – that is sized 5×7 inches. This fits perfectly inside a 5×7 photo frame. I used several colored cardstocks for the mushrooms and their stems. I embossed the inside layer of the largest mushroom using the same die and also added ink blending on mushroom heads + coloring on their stems. Most of these came from my stash. For the little ‘welcome’ sign, I used a tiny piece of wood patterned cardstock which came in this month Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month.
I also used some more patterned paper that has green-blue watercolor pattern to cut out grass layers. Here I used a die from a previous die kit – the besties one from July Small die of the month. Along with this I also used the latest dies from this month’s card kit – to create a few dainty plants and the letters for ‘AUTUMN’. The beautiful scripty hello also came from this month’s card kit and so did the little rocks (textured enamel dots).
So, what do you think? Don’t forget to let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Bouquets / brickbats – all welcome.
