Thankful for you – Card using Hero Arts September card kit

Hey lovelies, have you started your fall-holiday crafting yet? I am happy to say that I have :-) And today, I have one more thanksgiving card to share. I used a lot of my new favorite Hero Arts goodies – from their My Monthly Hero September kit.

I used one of the wreath dies that came with the kit as my main focal point. I also ink blended some random green inks and the mustard / rust inks that came with the kit to cut out some foliage.

With my order for Sept card kit, Hero Arts sent me some felt decor too :-) I used one of the pumpkins from there as my main embellishment. This pumpkin has some gaps in place of ridges, I didn’t think those would look good with the wreath showing through, so I colored a piece of scratch cardstock orange and adhered it behind the pumpkin. Love how that turned out.

To put this card together, I ink blended distress ink Mermaid Lagoon lightly on a textured white note card. On top of this, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment – thankful for you. I used the stamps from the kit and copper embossing powder from Recollections.

Next I made a cluster of my leaves and pumpkin and adhered the cluster on to the wreath using foam tape. I used back side of the foam tape to adhere the whole thing to card panel. This way I did not have to deal with adhered the wreath accurately :-)

Finally on one side of the note card, I adhered some chevron b&w patterned paper strip and added matching sequins to finish my card.

I love how this turned out and this kit really started (or brought back) the wreath obsession in me. This one is not the last wreath card you are seeing on this block!

What about you? Do you like wreaths on your cards or no? I am curious. :-)

A little more info about these Hero Arts monthly kits – My Monthly Hero: This kit included

? A set of three Fancy Dies designed for building your own wreath ? A 4?x6? clear stamp set ? Ten coordinating Frame Cuts dies ? Three ink cubes in Mustard, Rust and Deep Burgundy ? Cardstock in Kraft, Sunset Orange and Metallic Copper ? Custom Freckled Fawn Enamel Dots in red ? Brown and Natural jute twines ? Brown gems

A total value of 65$ for the price of 35$! This kit also came with several add on stamps and dies sets (sold separately) which let you customize the wreath for Halloween / Christmas instead of the base set focused on Thanksgiving. How cool is that? !!

Even the October Kit is fabulous. I have ordered mine and you will be seeing cards using that kit soon.

One thing about these kits though, they are not on subscription basis yet. They release on first Monday of the month. You have to order yours before they sell out. October kit release on Monday (day before yesterday) and it is already sold out! To read more about these kits click here. To know about the next one coming, sign up for their newsletter here.

I hope that gives you ideas for more crafty things. Do share your creations here. I’d love to see what you make. Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Hugs, ~Varada
