Today I wanto to share two cards made using word dies from the Simon Says Stamp release “Hey Love!”
Both these cards have no stamping on it what so ever. The die cut words take place of the sentiment. Also, the die cut sentiment is on the inside of the card so it does take place of the message too. The sender only has to write the To (/dear) and From (/With love).
For both my cards, I used the patterned papers from Crate Paper’s Hello Love collection for the sentiment itself as well as the card front. These came in one of SSS card kits in 2016 and I had 2-3 of them still left :-) I combined these papers with a couple fun foiled / glitter paper and even some packaging material for some punched out shapes.
For my practice piece I created a see-through frame / window on the card front.
For my next card, I took it up a notch by making the card front a shaker window.
I am also trying to improve my video making skills so here’s an attempt at that too. I hope you will enjoy the tips I share in this video and also give me feedback on what I can improve upon :-)
These cards use several different techniques
die cutting – how I line up all the layers (patterned paper, fun foam and card front panel)
making a shaker window card – a see through window in the card front that also doubles up as a shaker
and most importantly, using word dies in place of sentiments
Watch the video below as I explain these techniques and share my tips.
