Oats upma {a printable recipe!}

Hi friends, I hope you all had a great Valentine’s week. Mr C gave me one of the books on top of my wish list – “The 8th Habit” by Stephen Covey. I an having this feeling that something tremendously great is going to happen in my life soon and I want to be as prepared for it as I can. So I am reading books by great authors like him. Of course, I loved his “7 habits… “. I think it is one book people (specially *yours truly*) should revise like our study books. Well, more on that in some other post. :)

When we went to Baroda last month, I suggested Jiji to include oats in her diet for their rich fibre content. One way for us Indians to bring in this *videshi khana* in our meals is to make Indian dishes with it. What better than the simple and humble breakfast dish “upma”? I am posting this recipe for you, Jiji :)

Here’s my version of this recipe.

What I like about this recipe is that it combines the goodness of oats with that of veggies. I often add chopped red/yellow/green capsicum, French beans, carrots and peas to this one. What I do not like so much about this recipe is that this is a little more gooey than the rava (sooji) upma. I wish I could make it a little more fluffy instead of gooey. Any ideas, anyone, on how to do that? Please do share with me…

Also, just so you know, this recipe picture is printable. Just click on the link to open this image in your image viewer. You can then print it on a Letter sized paper directly and simple file it into your recipe book… :) Do let me know how that works for you. Is there any change that you’d like me to do in terms of orientation? Paper size? Fonts? Anything… Just let me know and I’ll try to get that done in the subsequent recipe printables I’ll post…

Thank you for dropping by,

Cheers,
