  • Sharing when I am not 100% sure - a mini Slimline card with pencil coloring

Hi peeps, I am going to share one old card I made but haven't shared here yet. Honestly speaking, there's something about this card that I wish was different. I just can't place my finger on it. I combined two stamp sets for this card - Flower Arrangement 2 for the image and Celebrate You for the sentiment. I did try to foil the image but didn't work for some reason. So I leave it be. I added color on top with Studio 71 watercolor pencils, but no water. All the flower centers and the little blue-berries(?) on the side were colored with Nuvo drops. Pretty straightforward really, but something bothers me. Let me know if you have ideas for improvement. I decided to still go ahead share this with you because I want you to know that there are cards I make which I don't 100% like. It's part of learning, it's part of the process. If you are feeling like you should only share your perfect work and nothing else, please give yourself permission to let go of that restriction. I promise I will be your personal cheer leader always :-) SUPPLIES LIST For your convenience, I am sharing links to the supplies I’ve used or the ones you can use for making similar cards – click on the picture or link to go directly to the product. Wherever available, I have used affiliate links, which means when you make a purchase, I receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you) which I use to run this blog. I truly appreciate your support! Hugs! ~Varada

  • Just For You – Guest post by Joy Dsouza

Hello there my crafty friends! I hope you are having a lovely week. I am Joy Dsouza from HandCraftedByJoy.com, and today I would like to share the second card I made as the Guest Designer for Varada Sharma. My card features the following stamp sets Backyard Buddies Lots of Hearts Stamp sets Steps: I started by creating the scene in Photoshop. Next, I printed it on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and trimmed it to 4 1/4 * 5 1/2 inches using my trimmer. I also printed the images on a masking sheet, fussy cut them using my cutter bee scissors and stuck them on the card panel. Then I masked the ground using memo tape. Next, I placed the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil by My Favorite Things on the card panel and inked it using Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks along with my blender brushes. To add dimension, I smooshed the ink pads on my media mat, sprayed water on it and used a round brush to splattered the ink on the panel. After that, I unmasked the images and used my Copic Markers to colour them. Lastly, I stuck this card panel on an A2 card base using art glitter glue.
